• Make sure that the fan belt is not loose

How Often Should I Get My Battery Checked?

Most manufacturers recommend checking the battery twice a year. If you live in an area with cold winters, you should also check it additionally in late fall and late spring because extremely cold and hot weather can make the battery wear down much faster.

Signs That You Need To Get Your Battery Checked

1. Dim Headlights – Noticeably dimmer headlights is one of the most visible signs that something is going on with the battery. The best way to test the headlights is to turn them on at night. You can also take your vehicle for a short drive down the street to test them. If you notice that your headlights are not as intense as they were before, it is time to get the battery checked.
2. Slow Engine Start-Up – If your car is having a hard time starting up, it may be a sign that the battery has begun to lose its charge. It can also be a sign of something else but it is still better to inspect the battery first.
3. Battery Leakage – If you notice battery acid leaking, you need to check the battery. Even if the battery charge is still good, leakage can lead to serious mechanical issues in the future.
